Boudoir FAQ: Everything You’re Dying to Ask (But Might Be a Little Shy to Say Out Loud)Â
Of course! I definitely understand wanting to have someone around for comfort/safety. I do recommend bringing a friend along as they’re typically really encouraging and help make the session more fun and enjoyable for you.Â
Boudoir photography is intimate in nature, and I understand that not everyone wants their photos publicly shared. Any photos that are shared on my website or social media, models have granted permission. You'll receive your edited photos through Dropbox and ONLY you will have access to that folder.Â
I will help guide you though different posing ideas. My goal is to help you look and feel like the best version of yourself. Â
Definitely NOT! You'll never have to pose in a position or in a way that is uncomfortable for you. I will encourage you to push past your comfort levels as some of the favorite shots from our sessions are the ones where they went just a little further than their expected comfort levels.Â
Glad you asked. I've made a bullet point list from a variety of sources to help you. In no particular order.
Good night sleep is best and wake up with plenty of time to get ready.
Do not wear tight fitting clothes to the location. Either a strapless bra or no bra when travelling to location.
Shave the night before day of the shoot NOT the morning of, the camera and light pick up the skin irritation.
Never dye her hair, use a tanning bed, or spray tan the day before a photo shoot.
Stay well hydrated
Try practicing posing in front of a mirror at home.
Eat something. Many models wont eat before a shoot to help with "flatter tummy." At least have a snack or something to keep your blood sugar up.
Pack the outfits you feel confident, sexy and comfortable in.
Bring or send reference photos that match the vibe or poses you're aiming for
Stretching a little beforehand so you're loose
Take deep breathes in between poses
Try on any clothes in advance and make sure everything fits and you have the most appropriate undergarments if you are wearing clothes
Pack all outfits with accessories separately (jewelry, shoes, etc.)
Have a written agenda of the order you plan to wear outfits and any thing else that will change for each shot, such as hairstyles.
